My name is Olivia, I am 20 years old and a second year international student here in the Hague.

Back home I have a sweet boy-cat (14 years old) and it is hard to even remember life before having him. I am definitely an animal-loving person, therefore taking care of pets sounds like the most ideal way of spending some of my free time. Although like mentioned before I am a cat owner and have more experience with them, my sister has adopted a dog a few years ago. Spending time with him in different stages of his life made me gain experience and enthusiasm. At a more personal level, I had a bit of a rough time with all of the adjustments of starting a new life as an international student, which took a toll on my mental state. From the multitude of factors that made it harder for me to adjust, having a very bad work experience in the Netherlands also made me reluctant towards getting another (working) job for another few months and instead focus on my academic progress. Still, financial aid is necessary and since pet sitting exists, I therefore think that taking care of a pet will represent a refuge for my mind and will have a positive influence on it. Furthermore, I unfortunately don't have the opportunity to see my own cat often given travel expenses and lack of vacation time, so any attempt to make up for it by taking care of other pets sounds wonderful!

I am open to spending time with pets, house-sitting and house visits, as well as going for walks in different scenery around the city, or unexpected emergency rides when necessary!
