Hi Pawshake Community!

I'm Jeandri, a 30 year old lawyer and fur mama from South Africa! Currently, I am a full time master student at Maastricht University and have falllen in love with the charm of Maastricht since starting my programme (Globalization and Law) in September 2021. Since I was little, we have had pets in our home and I just adore having a small warm body and unique personality around to keep one company - be it cats, dog, chickens or lovebirds. This is really something I have been missing and craving since I have moved here. From my photos you will see me with our family cockerspaniel, Meeko (aka Baba Bear), who is living with my parents in South Africa at the moment. The black beauty in the photos is Bella, my landlord's cat who basically adopted me and lived with me while I was working and living in Johannesburg. In essence, I love animals and animals love me!

Since being a full time student and living on a student budget, I see pet sitting as the best way to make some extra money whilst doing something I enjoy! This also means that I will need to be in class at certain times (tutorials are in person), however, classes are online, which makes things quite flexible. I have taken care of my own pets as well as my previous landlord's cats and dogs on many occassions when they went away by spending time with them, taking them for walks and feeding them. I understand that it is hard to leave your fur baby in the hands of another, but I am committed to creating a safe, loving and playful environnment for your pet by following your instructions regarding your pet's routine and making taking them on the best walks in the surrounding parks. I am fluent in Afrikaans (some people refer to it as baby Dutch) and English. Although I cannot speak Dutch fluently, I can read and understand some as it is quite similar to Afrikaans.

What you can expect:

Dog walking - at least 30 minutes on-leash (unless arranged otherwise) walks in surrounding parks and neighbourhoods. I always take some water with me. I will also ensure you home is locked and secured before we leave the house on our outing.

Home visits - 30 mins sessions (can arrange multiple visits per day). Your fur baby's litter box will be cleaned or they will be taken outside to do their business ;-). I will spend some quality time playing and caring for them.

House sitting - 24hour sleep-in visits. Will be home during the night and will work according to owner's schedule. Will clearly communicate my class schedule that everyone is on the same page.

Availability: As mentioned, I am a student, so my timetable is quite flexible. I am available most weekdays (day and evening) as well as weekends. Should I not be available (i.e. go away for a weekend) I will let you know in advance and/or update my calendar on a weekly basis. I am looking forward to meeting and caring for your pet :-)
