Hello pet lovers, I am Jess!

Please note: all services must be performed in your home from April-June 2022 as I will be staying in temporary accomodations and cannot have pets. However, I am very happy to stay at your place to provide quality, all-day/night care in your home.

I am a 38 year old Canadian expat and very experienced pet caregiver who moved here recently for my husband’s work. I work from home, so I have plenty of time to spend taking care of your pets. I am only looking for live-in pet sitting arrangements for the next few months while I am waiting to eventually move to our new home in Los Angeles.

I have always been an animal lover, since my first childhood puppy stole my heart and started a lifelong journey in caring for animals and promoting animal welfare. I have over 20 years of experience caring for animals as a professional pet-sitter, a foster home, and as a volunteer with no-kill animal rescues.

What's included?

The amount of time and frequency of walks/ play sessions depend on the needs of the pets in question. Every animal is a unique individual, and I only care from animals from one home at a time. I am experienced in the various areas of care listed below, and am happy to conform to whatever routines you currently have with your pets to keep their experience consistent, secure, and familiar. If you have an animal with special needs I am happy to assist you. If there is something you need that isn't listed here or anything you are unsure of, please feel free to ask.

Pet Care Experience

I have experience with large reptiles and amphibians, small mammals, dogs, and cats. In Montreal I ran a cat foster home with the local animal sanctuary for 4 years, and rescued and rehabilitated 65 abandoned or feral cats in that time. I am especially dedicated to working with behavioural issues, as many of my fosters have required rehabilitation in order to make them suitable for life with their adoptive families. I will respect whatever routines you have established with your pet, but I can also offer advice to tend to specific behavioural issues as required. My standard services include staying at home 18 hours a day with your pet, administering medication, feeding, grooming, cuddling, walks, and any specific play or training routines your pet requires. If there is anything else you need to keep your pet happy, just let me know.

House-Sitting Experience

I have 15 years experience house-sitting in both the luxury home and standard market, both as a live-in and live-out sitter. I have experience tending houseplants and gardens, basic home maintenance and cleaning, caring for fine finishes, picking up post, running errands, basic security, and supervising home services such as cleaning, renovations, etc.

 Having had many background checks through the course of my work with children and in homes, as well as my very recent check in order to obtain my Dutch Visa, you can rest assured that I can be trusted to care for your space as if it were my own.
