Hello everyone,
My name is Matthieu, I'm 38, French. I currently work as a music specialist, as well as a writer, and I've lived with cats as long as I can remember - I love animals in general but cats really steal the show for me. The last heir of that dynasty of companions of mine is titled Lucette, AKA Lulu, a half-Persian half-European, orange and white, awfully chill cat that purrs like a little bus engine. An absolutely lovely and old lady :)
Throughout the years, I've developed a passion for cats, read a lot about them, learnt how to apprehend them, how to behave around them, which led me to think of starting an activity as a catsitter. After all, some of my friends actually call me "the cat whisperer"...
You could also call me a newbie in the game, yes, but not exactly - I have a years-long experience in looking after cats, both mine and friends' or colleagues', sometimes as fit as a fiddle, sometimes a little bit more demanding (I've taken care of sick cats several times in the past, for instance, which includes giving medicines). For the time being, I'm not skilled for grooming and/or training, unfortunately - but I'm working on it, later on I'm planning on studying again to become a veterinary assistant.
To give you an example about my skills, not later than last week, I helped a good friend of mine because his very old, blind, deaf, almost anosmic cat struggled acclimatizing to her new home - which worked instantly, by the way! That's how dedicated and loyal I am to my friends, both human and feline :)
If necessary, I'm also good with plants and I can look after them.
I'm preferrably available during the day, either in the morning or in the afternoon, less frequently in the evening since I have a 1-year old baby (still manageable if needed).
That being said, you must know that my cat Lucette is quite exclusive, therefore I can't take other felines with me at home, only visits at your place, once or twice a day, depending on the needs of everyone. I'm working from home, so visits could last longer, if requested - the more time I spend with a cat, the happier I am, truth be told. It's a win-win situation for me, the cat and the owner.
So, if you're looking for a catsitter in Amsterdam Centrum/Oost/Noord, I'm your person! Please reach out to me, it'd be an absolute pleasure to look after your feline.
Be seeing you,
Matthieu
