Marelise

Hi! I am Marelise, and I am 32 years old, working as a consultant in the Healthcare field. I speak Dutch, English and Afrikaans. I have been living in NL for 6 years, and would love my own dog... but I travel and live alone, so my dog will be left alone... and that is not an option for me.

So, that is why I would love to take care of your dog. I say dog, as I do not have experience with other animals. Dogs however - I have had my own throughout my life and taken care of dogs of friends/family. They are just amazing - smart, funny and all with their own personality.

I have predominantly experience with small to medium size dogs. Note that I live in a medium sized apartment with a balcony. I live alone. It is about 80m2. The balcony is quite small 4m2. And many green-spaces in the neighborhood of course. Right outside my home is a large green walking space, but a street further is also a dedicated dog space.

I am willing to adapt to your dog's need regarding how long and how often they need to go outside. I can work from home on the days your dog is here, so they will not be alone for long - maybe if I need to buy some food or go for a short run - please let me know what you prefer and we can see how I can help. Your dog's peace of mind has priority.

I allow one owner per time. No double bookings. I am new to Pawshake/stranger-petsitting, so I will probably ask you all the details about your dog, to ensure they feel at home and safe at my place. and so that you can relax.

I assume you will bring food with you and bedding / toys to help your dog feel comfortable. I also need to meet your dog before - I think that will be helpful :)

They can sleep wherever in my house, i will ask you where you think is best / let your dog decide :)

I, myself am sporty and a nature lover, so I also love going on walks or runs - which is much nicer with a dog. I have quite a flexible work regarding whether I go to office or WFHome and also my hours are flexible.

Also older dogs, who walk slow - i would love the company just on the couch.

I also do not mind staying at your home if you have good wifi and a space to work 😉 I can also water your plants, although I am better with dogs than plants... 😅

P.S. my dog eventually died of heart failure, so I have some experience with giving medication, although it was a few years ago, and I know it can be a challenge to get it all in... but, with some tips, I am willing to try.
