Hello dear pet owner!

I am Elena, 19 years old from Groningen but living in Leeuwarden for my study, currently in her second year and studying international Hotelmanagement at NHL Stenden, which is why I speak both English and Dutch very well. From my studies and previous work experience in the hospitality industry, I have learned to put the clients’ wants and needs first. I want to make your and your pet(s) experience the best as possible. I love to go on walks but also go to the gym and go on runs, last year I did 4 miles and did a 8km running race, both in Groningen.

As a kid I always grew up with animals around me. As a toddler I had 4 huskies around me and 2 cats, as a sport I did vaulting on horses at the riding school, where they also had cats I grew up with. Later on, during my early teenage years we got 2 dogs again. Both of them are Australian Shepherd, one is mixed with a Tolling Duck Retriever. Bella is mixed and the other one is called Duko. We got them as puppies and I went to puppy classes with both of them. With Bella I have teached her everything from the commando ‘sit’ to ‘wait’ and ‘speak’. I have done trainings Basic 1,2 and 3 and a 'sports and games' training with her. From these trainings I have learned about dog’s behaviour and how to keep them occupied and entertained and to stimulate their brain in a fun way. Duko is a bit more nervous on walks and with other dogs. During the training basic 1 I have learned various techniques on how to handle dogs that have somewhat more problems during walking and how to keep their attention during walking and making walks more enjoyable for them.

I was always a dog person but have developed a huge love for cats this year as two friends of mine have gotten kittens this year, which I have also taken care of when being there.

Since I live in the city Leeuwarden, I miss a buddy on my walks and the pet interaction overall, which is why I signed up for Pawshake :)

As a student I have a very flexible schedule with a lot of free days and free time but some days scheduled with classes. Living in a shared student house I won’t be available to sit your dogs at my home.

The services I can provide:
- Photos of your pets as you will surely miss them as you are not home with them.
- Basic care as feeding and giving water to the pet(s).
- Giving them attention and play with them at your home.
- Dog walks for at least 30 minutes or longer depending on age/wishes.
- Pet-sitting for the day or a few hours for dogs that struggle to be alone (if my schedule allows for it).
- House-stays (read further for more information).
- Extra care: train with them with brainstimulating games, grooming and brushing, photos of your pets with my professional camera.

I would love to take care of your pet(s) and take your dogs out for (long) walks. Having a car to my use, I would be available to take your dog(s) to discover new areas in the neighbourhood, like the beach/woods for a day-trip, to have the best day possible for your dog and to have them stimulated and nice and tired. House-sitting:
If you are interested in house-sitting, feel free to text me. Since, I have a lot of free days or days scheduled with very few classes, a lot of the time I would be able to house-sit, depending on my schedule! For your privacy I would not bring anyone into the house with me!
