Five years ago, I started working with animals regularly after joining Paws and Claws, an independent dog daycare and walking service located in the rural South-East of England. As a walker and sitter, my job involved walking, feeding, and cleaning dogs, as well as ensuring their well-being during daycare hours. I also managed the pick-up and drop-off service for dogs using our custom-built van, which involved picking up and dropping off from empty/locked houses whilst owners were at work. I also got the chance to care for dogs in the local area who didn't require a full day of daycare. In these cases I provided them with the necessary socialization and exercise they needed to thrive. I quickly became skilled in managing their different personalities and the relationships between different breeds and sizes of dogs, and was able to confidently oversee groups of up to ten dogs at once. As I built up a trustworthy reputation, I expanded my services as a house and pet sitter to nearby villages and towns. I looked after various animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even a few vegetable gardens while their owners were away. After moving to Utrecht to pursue my studies, I sought out similar opportunities as much as I could. I spent my last summer checking on cats and dogs all around the city nearly everyday. My passion for animals and dedication to my work has seen me labelled a reliable, professional, and hard-working individual who deeply cares for the well-being of all animals.
