Hi there! My name is Mery and I'm a Swedish expat living in Netherlands since June 2022.

Back home in Sweden I lived with 2 cats, Stella and Bernhard. Stella is a feral cat from Spain with a feisty and sassy attitude but shows her soft side once she notice you're actually not that bad. Bernhard is a big cat that is clumsy, quiet and snuggly. With this said, I do miss spending time and taking care of cats. Being surrounded by cats and spending time with them always brings me joy and peace.

A few years ago I helped raise the puppy Brutus, a 45 kilo mix raced dog with a lot of energy and personality. I helped to leash train him. I focused a lot on only using positive reinforcement for the training, a lot of compliments and candy (oops). Even if he was a dog that pulled the leash, barked on other dogs on the walks I always tried to meet this with calmness and understand that he is just feeling anxious/stressed.

I'm experienced with medication, pills, eye drops and taking care of wounds as well.

I have taken care of my friends cats when they've been on vacation several times since moving to Amsterdam, as I am current unemployed I have no issues moving around and spending snuggle time with a furry friend.

The reason I joined Pawshake is simply because I want to spend more time with animals and ease the daily life for others and make sure their beloved animals are in good hands. A win-win solution! :)
