I've had dogs and cats all my life, have been pet-sitting and dog-walking for friends for the past 5 years, and have recently lost my beloved cat and my Labrador all in one year, so I am very happy for dog company.
I have a full-time job but work remotely from home (or from anywhere with wifi) so I'm happy to spend time with your pets either at my place or yours. I work a lot in the evenings so I have lots of time to walk dogs in the mornings and early afternoons.
*Please note I have a second floor apartment with no elevator, and I don't do overnight stays at your place.*
For the last few years, I heavily relied on the services of dog sitters and dog walkers on this app due to my dog's separation anxiety, so I am very familiar with what the best sitters/walkers are like... and the worst. With me you'll get the best :)
I rescued my dog at an older age and with quite a bit of trauma, so I have experience with all of the following:
- Separation anxiety. I am not a SA trainer, but I understand a dog with separation anxiety and how to keep them feeling safe.
- Reactive dogs (dog/dog reactive, people reactive, noises/trams/cars/buses reactive, etc). Again, I am not a trainer, but I will keep them safe.
- Older dogs & medical issues. Hip/joint/ear issues, administering ointments and medications. I also have a cat who is on permanent epilepsy medication so very familiar with that as well.
- Dogs that like to eat stuff off the ground... like everything. (I had a labrador. Enough said?)
I live in a small one-bedroom apartment in Amsterdam-east up two flights of (wide, not too Dutch) stairs.
I very much hope to meet you and your dog soon.
Onze hond heeft speciale behoeften (verlatingsangst en allergie voor graan) en ze heeft goed voor onze hond gezorgd. Veel mee gelopen en in het park mee geweest.
I can definitely reccommend Varia, especially if you have a 'difficult' dog. Charlie is fear reactive but went for a walk with Varia without any issues. Communication was quick and easy and it was nice to receive updates and photos. Thank you Varia!
