About Rishabh

Hi there, am Rish here from Amsterdam, been living here for almost 5 years now.

I work from most of the time and have a lot of free time. Back when I was young, we used to have 5 dogs (2 St. Bernard and 3 Lhasa Apso in our house which was a delight to grow up in. And with that I have quite a bit of experience in taking care, walking and whatever else your dog needs.

I miss having dogs around and one of the main reasons why to be on this this app. I will do everything that I can to give the best care, as much as I’d love to give it to my own pets.

What I offer:

- Home visits: My visit last around 30 min and I can help with other things like watering plants, for exemple :)

I can send a lot of pictures and updates. I am very flexible with time, so we can discuss about what time is better to visit.

- Dog Walk: It lasts around 30 min and I can do more than 1 per day (depends on the dog needs)

- House Stay: I live on my own and have a spacious back garden so your dog can have plenty of space to goof around.

- House sitting: I stay at your house with your dog . I can also do some extra things like watering the plants or taking your mail (if you need something else, just text).

Let me know the preferable date and/or time in your message. I’m quite flexible, so there shouldn’t be any issues with that. We can schedule a meeting if you want to meet before :)

Any questions, feel free to drop me a line.

Cheers.

Dog Boarding
Shivam, 2024-08-20

I booked Rishabh a couple of weeks before my visit to Amsterdam from London. I clearly explained that I needed him to take care of my dog, Sascha, for two nights, with the understanding that I would visit and take her for short outings whenever possible, returning her to him for the rest of the day. I also made him aware that this was my first time traveling to Amsterdam, and I would be bringing Sascha along, which added to my concerns. He initially seemed very accommodating and agreed to this arrangement.

When I arrived in Amsterdam with Sascha and all my luggage, I decided to head to his place first to drop her off. Since my hostel check-in was late, I asked if I could leave my luggage at his place and pick it up later in the afternoon, to which he agreed, and I was grateful. However, there was a lot going through my mind already—traveling with a dog for the first time, leaving her in a daycare like this for the first time, and having limited time to explore the city while also trying to visit Sascha whenever I could find a moment. With all this on my mind and the excitement of exploring the city, I almost lost track of time and missed my museum booking. I planned to collect my luggage when I visited Sascha in the evening, but I failed to communicate this to him, for which I sincerely apologized. Unfortunately, this upset him to the point where he became completely uncooperative. He ignored my calls and didn’t respond promptly to my messages.

It turns out that this person took Sascha with him on his date, with no clear timeline for when he would return home. This is not how a dog daycare service should operate. If you have plans, like going on a date, you shouldn’t accept the responsibility of caring for someone’s dog. Sascha had just spent the previous night in a kennel on a ferry, which was undoubtedly an anxious and stressful experience for her. All Sascha needed was opportunities to spend some time during the day with me to calm her down and help her feel secure. The whole idea of finding the right daycare for me was also to be able to spend some time with her!

As for me, I had to settle for retrieving my luggage the next day. To make matters worse, this incident abruptly changed the terms of our agreement. In his words: “You bring the dog, I look after her, and you pick her up when you are done.” Pets are not luggage that you carry around everywhere, nor something you simply leave and collect. What they need is care, attention, and respect—something this person seems to lack. Throughout this, he was very rude and acted as though he was running a charity rather than providing a paid service.

There was also zero communication from him about how Sascha was doing—no updates on where she had been or what she had eaten.

Honestly, my dog is better behaved than this person. After all, everything eventually comes down to upbringing and how you raise them.

The next day was no different. As usual, he had his all-day plans. When I asked if Sascha would be staying home while he was away, he said no—he’d be taking Sascha along. I pointed out that it was a hot day for a husky to be outside, to which he responded with the excuse that they would be sitting in the shade. Seriously?

It's clear to me that insensitive and unprofessional people like Rishabh are on these platforms to make quick and easy money, without genuinely caring for the animals they’re supposed to look after. I didn’t complain at the time because I was in a difficult position; finding another dog daycare on short notice would have been nearly impossible, and it would have disrupted my entire holiday.

If I were a local in Amsterdam, I would have handled this situation differently. Beneath the fake smiles and forced grins, Rishabh is someone who needs to be held accountable for his actions.

To all dog owners, it’s a BIG NO from me if you’re considering leaving your dog with this person.
