I am a graduate student who is in need of part-time work. Given the rise in Covid-pets, I know many people need their new pets to be cared for while they return to work. As I love animals, dogs especially, I welcome this opportunity to become a pet sitter. 

My professional experience as a dog walker and carer is from working in a kennel free, dog daycare and dog hotel. The establishment did not breed discriminate, had no kennels, or off-limit areas, nor were dogs separated based on breed or size. Thus all employees had to be trained in and be able to resolve issues between dogs while allowing the dogs to socialise and wander in as natural an environment as possible. One of my responsibilites was to administer medications, upon owner request. Therefore I am comfortable with giving animals medication and insulin shots, but I will require a detailed breakdown of dosage, when the medication has to be administered, if it is with or without food, as well as veterinary contact information in the case of an emergency.

The majority of my experience is with dogs, though I do not have any issues with caring for common mammal species, amphibians, or reptiles. Though I have never owned a snake, I do find them fascinating. I am also a keen and enthusiastic cuddler of all cute animals- a service I can provide at no additional cost to you. 

My restrictions as a pet sitter are that I will not care for unvaccinated pets, I will need to be informed of all physical, medical, social, and dietary restrictions before hand so I can plan accordingly for the safety of your pet and to insure their complete enjoyment of their time with me. I also need to be aware of any triggers or anxieties they might have, especially for dogs- as I live in an area with lots of dogs, parks, and children. I live with a very sweet, low energy female dog. She is nuetered. Thus I cannot take any animals that have a fear of dogs, or are in heat. However I am willing to discuss caring for your pet at your own residence if that is prefered. Also please note that if you contact me 24 hours prior to start of service I am unlikely to be available. I will not consider a request if a meet and greet with the pet is impossible as the meet and greet is essential for my communting realistic expectations about the services I can provide as well as my confirming the safety of myself and your pet. If you send a request anonymously without your name or the name of your pet I will deny your request. If you are not comfortable explaining your pet's behaviour or situation via Pawshake's messanging function or make a request to 'only discuss specifics in person' your request will be denied. This is for my own safety as well as the safety of any other pets in my care at the time. 

Services:

-Walks: My walk rates are based on 1 hour sessions. I can arrange to take your dog on a run as well but that will have to be arranged for at least 2 hours to include warm up/cool down walks

-Boarding and House Sitting: I would be available between the hours of 17.00-8.00am and the rate is per night.

-Day care: Includes one 45 minute - 1 hour long walk and two pee or poop breaks. Hours would be between 10-16.00. Additionally walks, runs, or hikes in Oeverlanden park or Amsterdamse Bos can be discussed upon request.
