Hi my name is Julia and I am currently a fashion student in Amsterdam. I grew up moving and traveling a lot, gaining experiences and exploring the world with my family. I was born in Alaska where I hiked and camped everyday. Nature is a big part of my life, as well as animals. As a kid there were always animals around, either bears, deer, or moose in my back yard or an Alaskan Malamute around the house.
I come from a family of six and we were all mostly homeschooled so we did a lot of self education. While traveling I love to educate myself on the history and cultures of the new places I visit and I make sure to see some historical nature sites and farms as well. Two years ago I worked on a farm in Greece and got to take care of a bunch of different animals, including dogs and cats. I plan on working on more farms this summer to widen my life experience and skills.
As a kid I used to pretend to make dresses out of my sleeping bag and blankets. I’ve been into fashion my whole life and I’m specifically fascinated with costume design. Harry potter has been a huge part of mine and my family’s life. We traveled to destinations where it was filmed and even moved to Scotland for a while as well. One of my main goals is to do the costume design for the Harry Potter franchise. I've done a few projects for costume design already and I know I love it. The olden days / Victorian era is also a big interest to me. I love the fashion history of it all. More things I love to do are photography, cooking, traveling , learning history , art, being in nature, and being around animals.
I've had a bunch of different animals before, I’ve had cats , dogs , rats , birds, snakes and I feel like the animals I grew up with in my backyard count as well. I don’t necessarily believe in the word pet because all the animals I’ve had have just been part of the family, not something I own. They’re free to eat and roam around as they please. I currently have two cats, Marmalade and Halo. They’re brothers who love cuddles and adventures, we raised them both as inside and outside cats. I’m looking for kind animals to help out and take care of while attending Fashion school. Visiting them to not only feed and help them but give them company and cuddles.
Julia was very nice and sweet for our cats!
