About Demi

My name is Demi and I live with my husband, Wesley. I am 27 years old and I am currently studying an online art course, which means I am full time at home! My husband is 32 years old and is a software developer, also working from home most days.

Both of us love all animals, but we have a special place in our hearts for dogs. We are expats from South Africa and used to live with family who had 2 Boston Terriers and 2 French Bulldogs, so we are used to a dog-run home. We believe in letting our dogs sleep in bed with us, on the couch and having lots of cuddles! Since moving to The Netherlands, we have missed having animals and want to spend time with them whenever we can. There is no love like a love from an animal! I enjoy daily walks around the neighborhood and love being outdoors.

We are looking to get one small dog of our own in the future, we just need to find the right one to join the family. However, for now it is just my husband and I.

My services:

  • Dog boarding: Don't be stressed about leaving your beloved pet behind when you go on holiday, I can help you out. I take small/medium dogs in my home and care for them while you are away. Just bring their normal food, a bed/blanket that smells like home and their favorite toys!

  • Dog walking: Let your dog join me on my daily walks through Haagse Bos. I will make sure they have enough water and have the time of their lives while getting good exercise! 

  • House visits: Going away and leaving your pets can be stressful! Don’t worry, I can help you with that. Trust me to check in on your pets and spend some time with them daily while you are away. I will make sure they have enough water and food, as well as give them the love they deserve!

    I have 8 years experience of caring for animals (both cats & dogs). We will accept vaccinated animals only.

    We were so lucky to have Demi and Wesley take care of our Sam over the weekend. They are the best! It was our first time to bring her somewhere else. But Demi reassured us by staying in contact and sending us nice messages and pictures. We will definitely make use of their services again.

    In South Africa I used to live with family who had 4 dogs, one of which was a rescue and one who had behavioral issues. Our rescue (Boston Terrier) was completely deaf and used sign commands, he came from a puppy mill with terrible conditions. The other dog (French Bulldog) had fear aggression that was triggered by big sudden movements, feeling trapped and food/toys possession. These are all things I have come to learn over the years of being around them. It’s all about respecting their space and boundaries, reading their body language and not being forceful.
