Megan

Hello! Our names are Megan and Mike. We are 29 year old United States expats, specifically from the state of Wisconsin, now living in the center of Utrecht! We both work remote, so we are flexible and readily available to tend to your animals’ needs in the comfort of our home or yours. 😀

We have always shared a love for animals of all kinds. During her youth, Megan owned countless beautiful fish and a cuddly cat and Mike grew up owning a 30 year old Amazonian parrot and a total of six adorable cats. Since 2014, we have volunteered at local animal shelters and fostered/housed cats, dogs, and birds. During those times of care, we took great pride in walking, feeding, training, and providing endless affection to stray animals along with family, friends, and community member’s pets.

Safety is our number one priority and we want your animal to feel comfortable and secure in our care. Our home includes a fenced garden with turf where they can have as much outdoor time they want. We have dog and cat toys, enrichment equipment for mental stimulation, a raised bed, a cushioned bed, food & water bowls, litter, a litter box, and poop bags.

We will not bring your animal to a dog park where there is risk for unpredictable threats, but we will gladly bring your leashed pet on adventures around Utrecht.

We rescued a four year old dog named Coach from a local animal shelter. His breed and history were mostly unknown at the time. Through our time with him we learned more than we ever expected about dog behavior, body language, and difficult personalities. Even more so, we learned how fulfilling and easy it was to fall in love with him. Therefore, we are very understanding and knowledgeable about the needs of all animal personalities, whether they are aggressive, fearful, or outgoing. We can administer medicine and provide the enrichment your pet needs.

Our dog, Coach, unfortunately passed away this past September, which is why we are ready to open our home to care for animals again. We want to treat other people’s animals with the utmost respect and love, just like we have provided for our own.

Not only do we care for animals, we also can be trusted to collect mail and keep your house plants in good shape!
