Originally from Australia, I have been living in Utrecht for the past 8 years with my Dutch partner. Sadly, my pets couldn't come with me on the long journey over, and so I welcome any opportunity to care for animals in my spare time! Working a full time job and having a small
Baby through the week, unfortunately limits my time to own my own pets, and hence, helping other people take care of theirs is a win/win in my view.
I live in a lovely house just outside the center in Wittevrouwen (100m2), accompanied by a small patio back yard (8m2), sadly with no grass. We live close the several parks, and own a car, which enables us to take pets to even more open spaces such as the beach, and surrounding lakes if permitted from the owner.
Ideally, animals that aren't too smelly and don't lose too much hair are preferable, as I also like to keep the house clean, however, given my love for animals, this is always open for discussion. I get along with 99% of dogs, and most cats, however I have to be honest, some cats can be very temperamental and I would encourage a good discussion with any owner before taking on their animal, to ensure that I am the best person for the job.
Perfect!!
Our border collie Sam is crazy about Brielle and we are very pleased too! Always on time, easy to communicate with and flexibel if things change. And , most important, a happy dog.
Having owned a broad selection of animals over my life (dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, fish, frogs, and rescued more than I can count; I feel comfortable caring and training most animals accordingly. Reptiles care is still something I would need to get accustomed to, however coming from Australia, we learn to live with an abundance of species whether it be those with feathers, fur or scales.
