Hey, we are Sam and Fieke!

We’re an Australian (30) and Dutchie (32) who love travel, animals and combining the two.

While we’re dreaming of our future dog (an Australian Shepherd named Mate) and many cats, we’re filling the void by loving other people's animals — perhaps yours?

We both work online in the media and journalism industries. We also love hiking, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, chilling with friends, drinking great (or mediocre) wine, and playing sports.

So far, we’ve travelled to 35+ countries together, couchsurfing, staying in Airbnbs (check out our reviews!), hotels, hostels, and more. For the last few years, we’ve been stationed in Utrecht, the Netherlands taking care of people's homes and animals while they depart for the short term.

While we love our travel lifestyle, we also miss having animals around. Moreover, we understand that while pets are amazing family members, sometimes you can't take them on vacation with you — that's where we can help each other! We're ready to give your pets the love and attention they require while you're away. 

When we petsit for you, we take care of your pets as if they're our own. That means daily exercise, heaps of attention, playtime, and cuddles. We keep them on the same schedule as when they're with you so there is as little disruption as possible. We're experienced in dog training and obedience using positive-reinforcement techniques. We're both flexible with work, so can work from home and spend time with your pets. 

We've also both been homeowners before, so we're also well-attuned to taking care of houses (and plants!). We thrive in clean areas, keep things secure, and are excellent mail sorters. We're highly flexible and can do both short- and long-term sits.

Finally, we know it's hard to be away from your pets and home. Luckily, we both work as professional communicators, and will happily stay in touch as much or as little as you would like while you're away.

During our three weeks holiday Samantha and Fieke not only took great care of our house but they also made sure that our dog Beljash had a swell time. Thus making sure that he didn’t have to leave his safe place and surroundings. We were delighted to receive their updates and foto’s on which he was smiling all the time.

Having a rescued dog and with some health issues we were very glad to see that Beljash could get an individual approach and his character was treated with respect.

When we needed house sitters to take care of our house and dog while we were on holiday for more than two weeks, we were recommended Samantha and Fieke, and our experience with them could not have been better.

Their communication with us about WhatsApp was excellent before, during, and after our holiday. They coordinated their arrival and departure with us during numerous flight delays to ensure our dog was never alone for more than a few hours.

We received regular updates on our dog that were a huge relief during a long holiday. Finally, we came home to a clean home. We would highly recommend Samantha and Fieke to anyone looking for a house sitter.
