Hello to you and your adorable pets! 

My name is Sarah am I am a master's student at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I am an American, an English speaker, and have been living in Haarlem for a year.  

I am motivated to become a pet sitter because I love pets and would like a flexible part time job to fit into my school schedule. I am currently on summer break for my master's program and am excited to fill my extra time working with animals!  

Overview of my previous experience:
I have been around and taken care of dogs all my life! My first exposure to dogs involved caring for my childhood dog who was a part of our family for 16 years before he passed away. Additionally, during high school I worked at an animal hospital as a dog walker and cat caretaker. I spent a lot of time walking dogs, cleaning cages, and giving animals their prescribed oral medication. My more recent animal experiences are from the two rescue dogs that belong to my parents. I have taken care of these two dogs several times over the years while my parents were out of town. Their pups are high energy and I enjoy playing with them as well as taking them on walks. Additionally, my Dutch partner and I adopted a cat named Frankie last year. Frankie is my first pet that I am responsible for as a primary caretaker. It was a huge decision to adopt him, but I could not be happier because he is my beloved fur-baby. Having a pet of my own, I understand how important your pet is to you and how much you want quailty care for them while you are away. I have experience giving Frankie, my parent's dogs, as well as animals from my previous high school job, oral medications. If your pet requires any type of oral medication, I am confident that I can gently administer it to them. Finally, I have other pet sitting experience where I cared for cats that belong to family and friends. For example, various family members of my partner enjoy going on holidays and have asked me to be their cat sitter. Numerous times over the last year I have lived here, they have trusted me to go to their houses, spend time with their cats (including lots of cuddles!), and reliably feed them.  

I am willing to send regular updates and pictures of me and your fur-babies having fun together! You can trust me to care for your pets as you would want them to be cared for while you are not there.  

I will be a great pet sitter because I love animals and have a lot of previous experience caring for my cat as well as other people's pets.
