Hello!

My name is Maggie, and I’m a psychology student from California, doing an exchange in Leiden for a year.

All my classes are online now, so I have plenty of free time to play with and take care of your pets, and I am excited to explore more of the Netherlands by doing so! Please be advised I will be leaving the Netherlands for good June 30, so I’m not available for anything after that.

There’s not much more I can say other than I just LOVE animals. I say hi to almost every one I see, which luckily introduced me to Pawshake.

We rescued my Siberian Husky, Buddy, back in California 10 years ago from a shelter, so I have dealt with the full spectrum of a crazy young dog, to an older dog with more needs such as medication, cooked food, and slower, patient walks.

I have catsitted my neighbor‘s kittens and walked other dogs such as Boxers and Labs, taking them to dog parks and the beach. I have also helped out with a lab who lost mobility in her back legs, having to use a harness to help her walk.

Because of this, I know how to meet the needs of your pets, whether it’s running them on the bike for an hour, short walks down the street, or anything in between!

I live in a small studio type apartment on the first floor with a balcony, so they will likely only stay inside for a couple hours at a time before it’s time for the next adventure around the city!

There are plenty of parks nearby me, as well as a large courtyard in the middle of my building for the dogs to run around in (seen in photos). With me they’ll get 2-3 long walks a day, and go out for many breaks in between.

I am also happy to house sit at your home, as being in a familiar environment can be much less anxiety inducing for the dogs, and it can be easier for me to adapt to your environment, than the animals to mine.

I greatly miss my doggy back home, but I am so excited to take care of and play with your pets! I am a new sitter/walker through Pawshake, but I have had plenty of experience sitting and walking dogs, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I know it might be nerve-wracking to leave your pet in the hands of someone new, but you can rest assured they are in the best of care with me.
