I am an American living in the Netherlands for many years. I love cats
and dogs, so I signed up on Pawshake to meet more animals while making some extra money. I have grown up with retrievers, and currently have the sweetest 10-year-old black lab, Charlie. Other breeds I have cared for include, but are not limited to: Portuguese Water Dog, Australian Shepherd, Wheaton Terrier, Cane Corso, Friese Stabij, Galgos, Corgi and American Stafford. Most of my experience is with medium to large dogs, but I am comfortable caring for dogs of all sizes. 

I am currently available for dog walking, and I hope to find a few dogs that regularly need to be let out on Fridays as well as another dog to add to my 16:00 Wednesday route around Cornestyn. I am also available for house sits (up to two weeks). I do not own a car, so I only care for animals within biking distance of Leiden. 

For housesits, it is important that animals can be left on their own for several hours at a time. While my employer is flexible with me working from home, I do sometimes have to go into my office in The Hague. I can tend to necessary small house maintenance (i.e., mail, plants, garbage). I am comfortable administering oral medication. Depending on the character of the pet, I would be willing to administer injections after a demonstration from the owner. For longer dogsits, it would be lovely if my dog, Charlie, could join me and make new friends. He is a 10-year-old Labrador who is friendly with other dogs and used to having cats at home.  

I have also grown up with cats, and I do my best to charm every cat I meet. Most of the time I am successful. I think it is because I know humans serve cats, not the other way around. I will spend time with your cat(s) and tend to their needs, whether that means leaving them in peace with a clean litter box or actively playing with them.
