I am a 21 year old psychology student from England, studying in Groningen for 3 years. I do speak Dutch but I struggle with writing, however feel free to contact me in Dutch. I have always grown up with family pets (including a horse) and I have a love for all animals (as I’ve tried to make clear in my photos). With recent corona circumstances and being a student, it is unhandy for me to have any pets and I miss being around animals very much.
I have experience with dog walking, dog sitting (through Facebook) and cat sitting (for friends). I also had a part time job working at dog kennels in England where I helped clean, look after, and walk a very wide variety of dogs, all with different needs and temperaments. Regarding dog walking, I prefer longer walks (30 minutes+) because I feel it gives me more time to get to know the dog and also worth my travel to and from your house, however once we know each other better and we live within reasonable distance I am happy to help you with shorter walks while you are at work or something like that. I am always happy to spend extra time with your dog before/after walks as I feel it makes walking easier once a connection has been established, I may require WIFI as my university is all online so I need access to the internet for most of the day. This applied to dog sitting as well, as long as I have WIFI I am able to do my work anywhere so I can spend as much time as you need with your pet. Because of this, I can spend a lot of time giving attention and walking your animals, my schedule is very flexible.
In regard to pet sitting at my house: My apartment is small, with a lot of stairs and no garden. However, I will happily look after your smaller pets at my home with regular trips outside. Please see the pictures in my profile for what my house looks like. I live with one roommate (who is a big cat lover but has also been known to help me with dog walking and sitting), no pets of our own and no children. She is also a univeristy student so there is always somebody home.
A typical day for me at the moment is studying at home, sometimes the library and then whenever my clients need their dog to be walked (which happens to be usually at lunch times for an hour), I use that as my study break. I would love more morning walks now that its becoming warmer. If you need me to come to your homes then I can simply carry on that routine there. If I am pet sitting an animal in my own home, I will change my schedule so that I would only be looking after that animal and not having to leave too many times in the day to go for walks with other dogs.
I have A LOT of free time and a very flexible schedule so I can be a perfect pet sitter or walker for all of your needs! If you have any questions or an extra request please let me know because it will most likely to be a yes. I love walking and everyone benefits from some extra exercise so please let me know if I can help you! :)
I can highly recommend Sarah! Quite last minute I could arrange a 2 day stay for our dog with Sarah. By reading Sarah’s profile we knew she would be a good match with our Dachshund. And so it was! She responded very quickly and also communicated well during the stay. Sarah is very enthusiastic to welcome your dog. You can tell she is experienced. She was very kind with our dog but also showed she can handle a Dachshund! I will definitely ask Sarah again!
Sarah was great with Phoebe, was very easy to communicate with and responsive and took the time to get to know our dog and her behaviours. We feel very comfortable leaving Phoebe with Sarah :)
