Hi Amsterdam pet owners,
My name is Monica, I’m 34 and have recently moved to Diemen Zuid/Amsterdam. I work part-time as a teacher which means short working week and plenty of time to spend outside with your dog or inside taking care of your cat.
I’ve been surrounded by cats and dogs of all sizes all my life, I used to own a German shepard and 2 cats. I would love to have my own pet now but at the moment I travel and move house too much to be able to offer a stable environment for a pet. To make up for this I take part in foster home programmes for animals waiting for adoption and offer pet sitting services. In this way I can enjoy the company of animals and help them have a fun, safe and nurturing time when waiting for their owners.
I have a small appartment with a balcony, where I live with my partner who also loves animals as he grew up on a farm. No animals or children live here, it is smoke free.
My offer for you and your pet includes:
Home visits for cats and dogs:
I am happy to offer as many visits as you feel your pets need, I will ensure they have fresh water, food or medication if necessary. I will sped time playing and interacting with your cat (if it likes playing and human contact). I will take your dog for a fun, active walk of minimum 20-30 minutes to some nice natural area/park close to your home. Ideally, I will visit regularly and have a chance to get to know your dog better and learn when I can safely get it off-leash so that it can run, play fetch and interact with other dogs and other humans if that is what it likes. I will not get your dog off-leash if I don't know it yet or if it's too scared/agressive/undisciplined.
Whole-day care for dogs:
I live in a very quiet neighbourhood located close to green areas perfect for long walks (Diemerbos). My appartment also has a small outdoor area (balcony).
I'd be thrilled to offer at least one very long walk of 1-2 hours in the park/woods and as many short walks as you think your dog needs. Ideally, your dog will visit regularly and I will have a chance to get to know it better and learn when I can safely get it off-leash so that it can run, play fetch and interact with other dogs and humans if that is what it likes.
Depending on the weather, we will spend most of the time outside; at home your dog will rest on a blanket/mat provided by you either on the balcony or in the living room. I will ensure it has fresh water, food or medication if necessary. I plan to spend the whole day with your pet, I will not leave it alone at home if me or my partner are not there.
I plan to treat your pets as my own and help your family the best I can! Please contact me if you have any further questions!
Best
Monica
Please note: I have very strong opinions about people breeding and buying animals as status/fashion symbols despite the health conditions such breeding causes. I will not accept breeds like Persian cats, Bulldog, Pug, Boston Terrier or any kind of toy breeds as I find them unethical.
Monica is a great petsitter and a lovely person. She took good care of our 2 cats while we were away. We received daily updates and the cats were very relaxed when we returned. Communication with Monica was very good and we'll definitely book her again. Thanks Monica!
Monica took great care of our 2 maine coons, especially with Harvey. He is diabetic and not so social with stangers, but she managed to give him his insuline twice a day.
So if you need a trusted catsitter with experience of diabeticcats, you can contact her ;)
