I'm a long time animal lover and a recent dog caretaker. I currently live in a relatively large student flat with my roommate and her 10 year old dog, Ozzy.
In my previous house, I lived with my friends and their puppy, Lillie.
Through my experiences caring for Lillie and Ozzy, I've found my love for pet sitting and I can claim that I know how to speak dog (commands) in English, Dutch, Italian, and Polish.
Towards humans, I speak native english and intermediate Dutch.
My recent dog experience:
Ozzy: I currently live with my roommate and her dog, Ozzy.
He is an affectionate and energetic lab/cocker spaniel mix and I share the responsibilities of caring for him.
He is quite easy to take care of and is usually attentive.
When he gets really excited, he just needs a firm command.
I've had to learn to be disciplined with him and not let his sweet doggy eyes make me too soft.
In my previous home I lived with my friends as they went through the puppy adoption process and puppy training. Lillie is the shepard mix who was adopted from Greece. I took care of Lillie during the days while my housemates were at work, and I also took care of her on my own when they went on vacation.
I attended a few of the puppy trainings as well.
She is a super sweet rescue dog, but has some traumas which make her very scared outside and therefore a bit of a challenge.
I feel that I got a lot of experience with Lillie: learning how to approach scared dogs, how to build trust, and most importantly how to have patience and be empathetic.
I recently finished my studies at the TU Delft and I'm looking for a job now. Since I'm currently unemployed, I have a lot of time to spend with your pet.
The house: If your pet comes to stay in my apartment, s/he will be living with me, my roommate, and her dog Ozzy.
We live in a relatively large 2-bedroom flat with a balcony but no yard.
He/she will have full access to the apartment.
We live close to several nice green areas where the dogs can go off leash. We take Ozzy out 3 times a day for 30-45 min average time.
Therefore, your dog will get minimum 3 walks per day and I can accommodate more if needed.
For sleeping, your pet is welcome to sleep in my room.
I have only a bike for transport. Therefore, I can pick up your dog only if you live in walking distance or your dog can run along with the bike.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
