Hi! My name is Natalie and I'm a fairly new resident of Amsterdam. Like many other dog walkers, I have grown up with dogs in my family home (4 to be exact!) and absolutely adore every dog I meet! I'm definitely the kind of person who gets more excited about seeing a dog than anything else, even running into a friend!
I know growing up with my dogs that they mean the world to me. I know that when you're away or when you trust someone to walk your dog, it is extremely important to you to know that your dogs will be safe and looked after well. I will always treat your dogs as I would my own, providing them with the love and care for their well-being and happiness that I have for my own dogs. I am of course perfectly happy to include
an update with pictures and news about your dogs and what they have been up to after or during when you are away :)
I started dog-sitting and dog-walking because I do not have a dog of my own here in Amsterdam yet, and would love the opportunity to care for your dog when they need attention. I know the life of any Amsterdamer is hectic, so anything I can do to help get your dog out of the house and enjoying the outdoors is what I'm here for! Growing up around Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, King Charles Spaniels, Yorkshire
Terriors, Chihuahuas, and mixed-breed dogs we saved from shelters, I am extremely comfortable with dogs of all sizes and breeds.
I have worked as a dog walker before, and also often help friends and family with dog sitting and walking. I have also volunteered at various dog shelters, such as the Hong Kong Dog Rescue in Hong Kong where I grew up, and its been incredibly rewarding. I have learned so much about wide variety of collars, leashes,
harnesses, and the appropriate training techniques and approaches to dogs of different temperaments, all of which were required for the dog safety test and orientation I passed for a dog walking job.
I am currently a Masters student, and when I am not in classes I usually study at home and am able to spend the most time with your dog to give him/her the proper care and love.
The bottom line is no matter whether your dog is large or small, is calm or high energy, enjoys leisurely walks or prefers to run/jog, my #1 priority will be to spend as much time with your dog to really get to know them and work to make sure your dog enjoys their walk and/or their stay while staying safe.
Natalie is very good with My puppy, Benson. She follows all instructions and sticks to his schedule as well as providing me with pictures and updates of the day. I trust Natalie a lot with my puppy and know that with her Benson will be safe as well as learning new things!
Natalie was great with Blue. She stuck to my schedule and instructions and sent pictures of Blue and kept me up-to-date all day. She even sent me a summary of how the day went! She's friendly and genuinely enjoys looking after and playing with puppies. Blue was happy and had a great time playing with her so I'm booking her again soon.
I am currently a Research-Master's student at the Graduate School of Communication at the UvA (MSc). I also had to pass a dog safety test for a previous dog sitting application.
