Hello,
My name is Emma , I am a 20 year old UvA anthropology student. My origins are Swiss and French but I've lived in a variety of places, and taken care of pets in them too!
Throughout my entire life, I have loved to care for animals and dog-sat, trained, and spent caring for them, whether it is for my own dog or others. I naturally am patient to understand the animal I'm caring for and their needs and personality. I have previously done pet-sitting both dogs and cats, in which I’ve only had positive experiences.
I have 3 years of experience volunteering at a dog shelter in which I led a group of students in Beijing to come care, feed, wash and train abandoned dogs. I had to learn and teach others to assess individual needs as the dogs were traumatized, blind, missing a leg, anti social and so on. I also helped rescue, care for and find homes for french bulldogs that had been used for intense breeding purposes. These previous experiences enabled me to better care for animals, as well as develop various methods to help the dogs become comfortable. I want to create a safe environment for the animals I interact with to ensure that they are happy and healthy.
I do not have any restrictions for a dog's age and size, however, I would prefer a small dog if I am dog-sitting in my apartment due to limited space. I would also like for the pet to be vaccinated for rabies, and canine hepatitis. I also do not mind pet sitting cats as I am also very comfortable with them!
My schedule allows for much flexibility, meaning that I am available most days and times unless I have a prior commitment or class.
Emma was amazing! Her communication was great and even sent multiple photos during the day. She truly cares about dogs and that shines through. I would hire her again without a doubt!
