I grew up in the south of France, so I have seen my fair share of dogs trying to swim in the ocean. I have mainly been surrounded by ginger cats and tortoises, but also had a chinchilla for five years and a hamster for three. I played a lot with both neighbour's and my grandfather's dog, as well as taking every opportunity to cuddle dogs that I see in town. I have always loved animals, but since leaving home I have not been able to adopt one myself which is why I decided that I'd like to start pet-sitting. I have taken care of different dogs since joining pawshake: two pomeranians (both just for seperate days), a jack russell (for 10 days), a black labrador (a couple times a week for 7 months), and currently a golden retriver puppy once in a while.
I moved to Amsterdam in September 2018 to complete a bachelor's in psychology, but then decided that I am more interested in political science which is what I have majored in since September 2019, with a minor in Violence. I have no clue what I wish to do in terms of my life post-uni, but I know I want to help people or animals. I live in an apartment with two other masters students and one intern. We are all super close friends and huge animal lovers, so your pets will not spend a minute unattended. I have a lot of time available, so I will not leave your animal alone. I normally take care of animals with my best friend and flatmate Tony, who you will most often encounter. He is 26 years old and works as an intern in human resources for Unilever. The apartment has a view over a lake with bike lanes and large green areas surrounding it, a perfect place to exercise and play with any animal. I am able to walk your animals as many times a day as needed. There is more than enough space for your pets to sleep, whether they have solely a bed or even if they feel safer in a cage.
I am very flexible and patient and do not mind dedicating time to any fluffy friends, as I know that each pet has their own special needs. I have included photos of my bedroom, the hallway that connects all the rooms in the apartment, the living room, and the balcony. I am of course open to meeting up beforehand as I understand not wanting to leave your beloved with someone you are unsure about. I look forward to getting to know both you and your pets.
In terms of my services, I basically can provide whichever services you may need. As i live in front of a lake with many green spaces, I can take your puppy on as long or as short of a walk as you may want or as they may need. As I live in an apartment, i think it would be best for doggy boarding if I only had one dog per family at a time, meaning your puppy will not be with someone else's - but multiple dogs from one family is fine with me if it is for you! I honestly am here for anything you may need - and please do not hesitate to ask me if you have any questions!
Bertie took fantastic care of my cat during my trip. Plenty of updates and a nice environment which let my beloved pet feel safe! Thanks again
Bertie was very kind, she did a great job taking care of Maisie. Excellent communication. I was not worry at all about my dog during that days. I totally recommend her.
