Hey dog owners! 🐾

We are Katarina and Luka, a Croatian couple in our mid-twenties, living and working in Amsterdam since 2020. Six months ago we found out about this app and immediately had to create a dogsitter's account. We are both huuuuge dog lovers and adore all breeds and sizes🥹 One day when we settle in our own house, we'd like to have two dachshunds because they are small in size but big in attitude and a golden retriever because I had one for 14 years. Colin was his name, and he taught me how to love and give back unconditional love ❤️

Until then, we'd love take care of your dog! Since March, we've had the opportunity to dogist +20 different breeds with an average of 3-4 dogs per week. We've also had dogs stay with us for >10 days and have looked after 2-3 dogs from different owners at the same time. As a neuroscientist, I especially enjoy learning about the behaviours of different breeds and training them to do tricks. For all the dog owners out there, you must watch the Netflix documentary "Inside the Mind of a Dog" if you haven't already! It's suuuper interesting...

At this point, you might be wondering how do we have time to dogsit?

Well, we are lucky! We both have hybrid jobs (Luka does data analysis, and I write grants). Therefore, we arrange our work week so that each day one of us works from home. This way, our dog guests can have 24-hour supervision. I work from home 3 days a week, and Luka does 2 days. On the weekends we love being outdoors (if the weather allows...), so we often go to Amsterdamse bos, Amstel park, or the beach. We have a car so it's easy for us to explore new places with the dogs. The car also comes in handy if we need to take a dog to the vet.

About our home 🏡

We live in a 65m2 apartment on the second floor. We have a balcony, lift, and a small, unfenced park right in front of the building. We let dogs on our sofa (but not the bed😅). For daily walks we love taking dogs to this very nice forest/canal path that separates Amsterdam from Amstelveen (it's called Kalfjeslaan I guess) or Gijsbrecht van Amstel park. Basically, we can reach beautiful nature with just a 5-minute walk!
